"Let the memory of Beneas Otieno be with us forever "

  • 23 Years Old
  • Born on Saturday, July 15 2000 in Kenya
  • Passed away on Monday, March 18 2024 in Voi, Taita Taveta

Here at the final hour, we have come to bid farewell to a bright hope extinguished now but only physically gone from us forever. It is far much more difficult to comprehend this death but much easier to eulogize him, for everyone who encountered him would tell a story too similar. In attributes and virtues of the man to that told by the next person who had had an encounter with him.  His demise is like no other one that cannot be experienced, one whose acceptance would take time to sink in, and one whose process must have been agonizing, painful and unbearable.

Early Life

Beneas Otieno was born on July 15th, 2000, at Nyabondo hospital, Nyakach. The last-born child of Asenath Akinyi Muga and the late Samson Muga Midega of Nyakach Kajimbo, Kisumu County. His elder siblings are Diana and Elijah followed by Maryline, Steve, Evelyn and junior from Mama Pamela Muga.

Education Journey

Beneas attended Innis Educational Center in Nyakach, Nyabondo Plateau and completed his primary education. He proceeded to Ringa boys’ high school in Homabay where he undertook and completed his secondary schooling and excelled tremendously well. Beneas proceeded to Nairobi to begin his university education at Kenyatta University where he was pursuing a bachelor’s degree in public health. He was in his 3rd year of study and his performance was undoubted as his brilliance would always show.

Life

Beneas brought joy to his friends and everyone around him. He was an unassuming person. Before he went to the university, Beneas has a very close relationship with his brother Elijah whom he confided in a lot and ran a very successful enterprise. Beneas was a performer and completed all assignments and tasks on time. He always had the zeal to pursue his education to the fullest to become a professor as inspired by his elder mom, the Late Mama consolata Muga who gave him a nickname of the same. This is a dream painfully shattered. Beneas was an ardent sportsman. He was a member of the under 18 football fellowship and a staunch supporter of Chelsea football club.

Rest Well Beneas and may you shine on your way. We shall forever miss you Apesa.
