Titus Iguna Gaichima

LIFE HISTORY 

BIRTH AND EARLY LIFE

The late Titus Iguna Gaichima popularly known as Rwanda was born in 1948 to the late Gaichima Mwaria Magane and the late Maria Gacima in kathangacini Location,Tharaka North Sub-county ,Tharaka nithi County.He was a step son to late Julia Kanonkono.They later moved to Rwatha Village in Gatue Location in1964 where he grew up in the larger extended family.He later re-located to Kabuabua Village,Irunduni sub-location ,Gikingo Location ,Tharaka –north Sub-county in 1979 where he lived till his demise.

SCHOOL AND PROFFESSIONAL LIFE

The late Titus started his education life at Gatunga primary school in the year 1961 from class one to class Seven where he did his CPE in 1969 and passed very well. In 1970 he joined Tharaka Boys and did his (KJSE) in 1971.He never Proceeded with education after this ,but joined the Administration police (AP) in 1972.he worked in various police station in the republic of Kenya.The notable ones are Mutuati in meru county,Gatunga,marimanti,mukothima nkodi and Gatithini during the era of shifta,where he was louded as one of the police officers who drove away the shifta from the region in the year 1985.He aslo acted as chief in Mukothima,Maragwa and Nkondi Locations in Tharaka District by then.He retired in 2003 as a Corporal.He later embarked on farming till his demise.

FAMILY LIFE

The late Titus was married to the late Tarasila kaguna in 1974 in accordance with Tharaka Traditional Marriage rites.they were blessed with Four(4) Children namely,Agnes Kajira,David Makunyi(Corporal,Ceera,Chuka),Alex Mutegi(Lecturer,Tharaka University) and Cecilia Kamunda(Teacher,Iriani Secondary).He was brother to the late Njoka , Marigu,Ndiu ,Kibaara ,kaindi ,Kaburi,Mwithi,Kiria,Regina and Catherine . He was brother inlaw to Kajira,Ruth,Karimi,Karigu,Tabitha,Njagi,Kibui,Felista,Gerald,Kaimbi,Rumethew,Mwithi,Kirema,LateCiari, Kanyiire,Mugambi and Tumbo . He was father in-law to Muriungi,Celiaca (Teacher,Iriani Primary),Rachael(PHO,Marimanti level iv Hospital) and Munene(KDF,Embakasi).He was a grandfather to precious Mukiri, Prisca kamathi,Dennis Munene,Fidelis Mutwiri, Prudence Kaguni,Melvin Mutethia,Yvonne Gatumi,Jayden Karani,Alvin Mukathe and Alvina Ngugi.

Thelate Titus was Uncle to Kanyua,Mwithi,Njeru,Carol,Irene,kinyua,Gatiiria,Murimi,Eric,Mukami,Kathee,Mwandiki,Munene,mugambi,Karea and many others .He also had other several children whom he sponsored during their traditional rite of passage.together they form part of the many sons and daughters he has left behind.

 CHRISTIAN LIFE

The late Titus Iguna was a staunch Catholic man. He was Baptized at Gatunga Catholic church in 1970.After Relocating to Kabuabua village, he continued to fellowship at Kabuabua Catholic Church, Mukothima Parish. Until his demise ,the late Titus was one of the CMA senior elders in the Church and Chairman of st.Stephen small Christian Community(Jumuyia).

SICKNESS

The late Titus Complained of stomach ache on Wednesday 17/05/2023at about 3.00 p.m. He was rushed to Mukothima mission health Centre where he was admitted overnight under treatment.by morning of Thursday 18/05/2023, the pain in the stomach became intense,the medics at the hospital advised us to take him to level 4 hospital for some tests they had recommended.On the same day we took him to Kiirua mission Hospital where after the test were done ,he was diagonized with an acute kidney Failure.The doctors then recommended that he needs a stomach ultra sound to check the cause of the acute kidney failure.while waiting to be taken for ultra sound ,Mzee rested peacefully, and went to be with the lord.May his Soul rest in peace.
