It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God's will that we announce the passing away of Moses Mwangi Gacheru, which occured on the 24th May 2023.
Moses was born in Muranga County, Kamachari location, Kamune sublocation in 1941 to Mr Erustus Waruku and Mrs Esther Wangari, he was the first born child or six chidren namely: Moses Mwangi (deseased), Samuel Mutugi Gacheru (deseased),Helina Gathoni Maina (deseased), James Maina Gacheru, Alfred Wahome Gacheru, and Edward Wahome Gacheru,
ACADEMIC EDUCATION
Moses attended:
1950 Wahudura primary school
1951 Karindi primary school
1952 Gakuruwe primary school
1955 Kamune primary school
1959 WAHUNDURA interim school
1966 railways training school
PROFESSION AND WORKING EXPERIENCE
Moses came to Nairobi to stay with his father in 1962 and he got his first job with Kenya Railways then known as East African railways and Harbour where he worked from:
1964 to 1998 till his retirement. In this period Moses worked in various departments of Kenya Railways
1998 to 2006 Moses worked with Esajo Supermarkets Kahawa west.
FAMILY STORY
In 1966 Moses meet with his wife Mrs Purity Mwangi at a wedding ceremony at Wahundura interim school and fell in love and married In 5th August 1967. They are blessed with four children namely: Harriet Njonjo, Sophia Muthoni Mwangi, Gacheru Kings and Stephen Ngari
Moses was further blessed with 9 grandchildren namely: Angel, Moses, Paula, Nina, Stephanie, Amy, Brain, Daniel and Reece
and 2 daughters in law and 1 son in-law namely: Angela, Brenda and Njonjo
Moses battled dementia for a while, coupled with rising sugar levels that saw him in and out of hospital in the last 2 months. Moses went to be with the Lord on 24th May 2023
Moses you are loved. Rest in God till we meet again.
