EULOGY

BIRTH
The late Lucy Wanjiku Gathenya was born In the year 1970 by her parents Geofrey
Gitau and Dorcas Mukami in Ndumberi (Kabae). Her siblings are the late Mary Njoki
Ndichu, Edward Kamau, Joseph Ndichu, the late Teresiah Wangari Kimani, the late
Grace Wanjiru Kimani and Monica Wanjiru.

BRINGING UP
The late Lucy Wanjku helped her parents in home chores and was an obedient child.

EDUCATION
The late Lucy started her education in Ndumberi Primary School in the year 1976 upto
1981.

WORK
The late Lucy Wanjiku was a business woman

MARRIAGE & FAMILY
Lucy wanjiku met the love of her life Benard Gathenya Kairu in the year 2000 and got
married. They were blessed with children namely; Geofrey Gitau and his wife Margaret 
Wambui Gitau and John Mwangi. Her grandchildren are Wairimu Gitau and Wanjiku 
Gitau. Lucy Wanjiku was daughter in-law to Winnie Karindi Kairu, sister in-law to Prof 
John Mwangi and Dr. Jane Wanjiku Gathenya, Lydia Muthoni the wife to Boniface 
Karingithi, the late Anthony Kariga and the late Muthoni Kariga.

CHURCH
The late Lucy Wanjiku Gathenya was a christian at Deliverance Church International.
Later she joined AIPCA St. Paul Kiambu Township church in the year 2021. She was
welcomed to the church and started baptisim classes and confirmation. Later she
Joined AIPCA Mother Council. The late Lucy Wanjiku was a staunch christian at AIPCA
St. Paul Kiambu Township Church until her demise.

DEMISE
The late Lucy Wanjiku lived a healthy life for many years but on 7/2/2024 she fell ill and
was admmited at Mercy Light Kiambu town where she was being treated. on 8/2/2024
her health deteriorated and was reffered to Kenyatta National Hospital during the
evening hours. She passed on the same day 8/2/2024 at 11:00 pm. She has left behind
her husband Bernard Gathenya, her children and grand children.

It is God who gave us Lucy Wanjiku and He has come
back for her.
