It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God's will that we announce the passing of our beloved Jennifer Judith Ambunya.
The cortege will leave Kakamega Funeral Parlour on Thursday, 27th August, 2026 at 10:00 AM, followed by a Requiem Mass at St. Simon ACK, Elukhoba, Kakamega, and a night vigil at her home.
Jennifer will be laid to rest on Friday, 28th August, 2026 at her Ebuchira home from 9:30 AM.
Birth and early life
The Late Jennifer Judith Ambunya was born on 8th May 1973, daughter of the late Elijah Namayi Musungu & Risper Musungu. She was a sister to the late William Wamboye, Lilian Okoti, Nelly Maliatso, Rebecca Seruya, Alice Wetola, Daniel Musungu, and Janet Aseka
Education
The late Jenny was a dedicated individual with diligence. She studied in primary school, later joined Arap Moi secondary school. She did her secretarial courses, then did a course in handsard reporting. She went ahead to further her studies for a degree at Dalc University
Marriage/Family
She was married to the late Andrew Mulamba from Kabras, Malava sub-county. They were blessed with 3 children namely; Joe Muchika, Joan Christine and Joy Suzan. She was sister in-law to Peter, Simon, Beatrice, Wycliffe and the late Tom.
She was an aunt to; Juliet, Faith, Mercy, Henry, Claire, Collymore, Barry, Lavinah, Blessing, Angel, Daniella, Hadassah, Owen, Grayson and Marlia
Work
The Late Jenny worked under contract with several companies, and later joined the County Assemblies after the devolution of County Governments, namely; Nairobi, Bungoma, Busia, Migori among others.
In 2015 she got employed by County Assembly of Siaya as a hansard reporter, where she worked till her death.
Christian Life
The late was baptized then confirmed in ACK church during her childhood. She was commissioned in the Mother's Union by Bishop Oketch. In Siaya she fellowshiped with Kingdom Gates Mission. She was a faithful devoted servant of God. Also a leader of a discipleship group "That we may know Him"
Social Life
The late has supported very many needy children. She was a great friend to many, despite their status. She was a Board of management member at Awasi girls where she sponsored a student in her education.
Sickness
The late started complaining of stomach aches and constipation in 2024. In Jan 2025 she went for an endoscopy & colonoscopy where a growth was discovered in her colon. This called for an urgent operation which was done in Nairobi Hospital. A biopsy was done and hence diagnosed with of colon cancer stage four. She was referred to an oncologist who put her on chemotherapy & radiotherapy. After that she was in and out of hospital while accommodated at brother Daniel. In Aug her health deteriorated and on 15th she was rushed in hospital where she was admitted. After some tests she was diagnosed with pneumonia. On the 18th the her health condition worsened and she succumbed on the 19th morning at 7:20 am.
