It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the resting of our beloved Hannah Njoki Chege of Rironi Village-Limuru which occurred on Monday 20th May, 2024 at Nairobi West Hospital.
Daughter of the late Bedan Mwangi and the late Esther Wanjiku. A loving and devoted wife of the late Capt. John Chege Gitau. Co-wife of Nancy Wamuhu Chege. Treasured mother of Alice Wanjiku Ngugi and Naftaly Ngugi Gakera, George Gitau Chege (USA) and Jane Kamuyu (USA). Step-mother of Joseph Ngugi, Dorcas Wanjiru, Leah Wangari and Teresiah Wairimu.
She was a cherished sister of Grace Wambui Kamau, Mary Mweru Mathu, the late Alice Muthoni, the late Paul Waweru, the late Peter Gikuni, the late Cecilia Waithira. Stepsister of Suleiman Kamau of Ndeiya and Joseph Kamau of Njoro. Sister-in-law of Michael Ngotho, Francis Gitau and Daniel Kiragu among others.
Loved and cherished grandmother of Dr. John Gakera, Purity Wambui, George Chege, Annete Njeri, Chege Gitau (USA) and Njoki Gitau (USA). Great grandmother of Alicia Wanjiku. She was a cousin, aunt, friend and a mentor of many. Family and friends are meeting daily at her home at Rironi Village, Limuru Sub-County near Rironi Police Post from 4:00p.m for prayers and funeral arrangements.
The cortege leaves Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home (Mbagathi) Nairobi at 9:00a.m on Tuesday 28th May,2024 followed by a funeral mass at St. Andrew Catholic Church-Rironi at 11:00a.m. Thereafter the interment will take place at the family farm in Rironi.
