Gaudencia Auma Chasimba Karani

It is with profound sadness and regret that we announce the passing of Mama Gaudencia Auma Chasimba Karani of Webuye, who departed this life on Sunday 7th September, 2025

She is the daughter of the late Thomas Manda and the late Agneta Ayoti Manda. Daughter-in-Law to the late Simeon Lidiema Karani and the late Celina Nyagano.

She was the beloved wife of the late Bernard Chasimba Karani and devoted mother to Eva Kanyori, Kennedy Karani, Stella Kasura, and Magdalene Kasaya. 

Mother-in-Law to Chris Kanyori, the late Sarah Namasa, and Reena Karani 

She was a loving grandmother to Nereah & Lenin, Caesar, Makena, Brandon, Wendo, Ahsante, Shalom, Joshua, Shamma, Faith, Baraka, Tsala, Rey, Luke and Zani. As well as many others who fondly referred to her as Shosh or Nyanya.

She was sister to the Late Leonida Manda, Atira Manda, Marisiana Manda, the late Fred Manda, the late Maktilda Manda, the late Ken Manda, Nick Manda, and Bonface Nangabo Manda

Sister-in-law to the late Josephat Nyagaga Karani, the late Wilson Karani, the Late Maria Violet, The late Ruth Musimbi Munialo, Henry Asava Karani, The late Evans Mukoyani Karani and Linet Chanyisa Shikanda among others

She was an auntie to numerous nieces and nephews. She was also god-mother, guardian and friend to many whose lives she touched with her kindness.
 

A Memorial Service will take place at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Webuye on 18th September, 2025 at 12:00 noon.

The burial will be held on Friday, 19th September, 2025 at her home in Webuye, generations area, Maraka road, Webuye East, Off Nairobi-Kampala highway, Bungoma County. 

Mama Gaudencia, whose lifelong service as an educationist, public relations officer, Cancer Survivor’s ambassador and dedicated church leader, has left a profound legacy on the lives, and families of many in Webuye, Mumias and across the country. 

To interconnected families, she was a pillar of grace, kindness, goodwill, togetherness, and humanity. She played a crucial role in shaping the values and guiding the paths of her children, grandchildren, and extended family, ensuring that her legacy of compassion and integrity continues to inspire future generations.

We are witnesses to the work of your caring heart here on earth. Your legacy will be gloriously preserved in your children and lineage, the thousands of children you cared for, diverse individuals, direct and extended families, and the church communities in Webuye and Mumias to which you dedicated your life.
