It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mzee Clement Martin Delewa Olalo on Saturday 28th October 2023 at St. Mary's Mission Hospital in Mumias.
Parents and siblings
Mzee Clement Martin Delewa Olalo was born a second child to his late parents Virginia Adala and Cornelius Olalo. He was brother to Clementina Awori, the late Pius Omolo, Bridgit Awino, Teresa Anyango, Josephine Osore, George Benny Orwako, the late Thomas Okowa, Francis Okhala, Emma Jane, the late Rosemary Awori, and Rose Majuma.
Mzee embraced education and was one of the people in the larger Mumias area who trekked long distances in search of education which was mostly offered by church-oriented organizations those days. He advocated for better society through various forums including political affiliations for better part of his youth.
Marriage and children
Mzee Clement Martin Delewa Olalo was married to two wives. He married his first wife Dorcas Nebele Delewa in the late seventies and they were blessed with five children namely; Antony Okhala, Emma Julia, Mary Auma, Bernard Olalo and Daniel Wesonga.
He married his second wife Bethseba Odaba Delewa in the late eighties and they were also blessed with five children: Joan Waliaro, Pauline Delewa, Henry Okowa, James Jethro, and Mercy Delewa
He was son in law to
The late Agnes Amukondo & Jotham Amukondo (1st wife) and Nerea Awino Odaba & the late Jared Festus Odaba (2nd wife)

The Cortege for Mzee Clement will leave St Mary's hospital mortuary on Wednesday 8th November 2023 at 10am and proceed to ACK church Indangalasia for a funeral service from 10.30am – 12.30pm. The procession will then proceed to his home with the first stop at his 2nd house until 9.00pm, thereafter proceed to his 1st house for an overnight stay.
The Burial ceremony will take place on Friday 10th November 2023 at his home in Indangalasia, Emaindi Village.
