Catherine Wanjiku

EULOGY OF THE LATE CATHERINE WANJIKU KARIUKI.

The late Catherine Wanjiku Kariuki was born in Gaciku Village, Kanorero, Muringa-ini location Kangema.

Her parents were the late Stakus Kamanja Mahuga and Miriam Wambui Kamanja in 1956.She was the sister to Simon Mwangi Kamanja, Rachael Njeri Kibe, Late Jeddy Muthoni, Late Martin Maina Kamanja, Gathu Kamanja, Ann Wacera and Ndaiga Kamanja.

EDUCATION

When Catherine attained the school going age ,She enrolled at DEB Kangema primary school in 1963 where she studied from Std 1 to Std 7 and sat for her CPE IN 1971. She later enrolled for a tailoring course.

CHURCH

The late Catherine was a staunch christian and a member of ACK St Mary Kanonero,She was baptized and confirmed.Catherine was a member of the Mother's union.

MARRIAGE
The late Catherine met and married the love of her life Julius Kariuki Kimenju they married in 1977 and the solemnized their marriage in 1982.They were blessed with 5 children;Margaret Wambui, Benson Macharia, Stakus Kamanja, Stephen Mwaniki and Titus Mahuga. She was mother in-law to Edwin Mwangi, Ann Wanjiru, Irene Njeri and Mercy Waithira.

WIRA
Catherine was actively involved in farking and rearing livestock especially dairy cows.

SICKNESS.
The late Catherine started feeling unwrll in the year 2000 and she has been receoving treatment in various hospitals like PCEA Kikuyu Hospital where ahe was taken as an outpatient. On Saturday 19/08/2023 the late Catherine felt unwell and has been receiving treatment at Kangema Health Centre and was reffered to Kenol Hospital where she was taken as an inpatient.On 23/08/2023 she was discharged went home.On 24/08/2023 in the evening her health deteroriated and wa rushed to Ruai Family Hospital(RFH) Eastern bypass branch at 6:30pm and she went to be with the Lord.She passed on at the age of 67.She leaves behind her husband and 5 children and 14 grand children.It is the Lord who gave us Catherine Wanjiku Kariuki and it is He who has given her rest.
