Early Life
The late Anna Margaret Macharia was born on March 5, 1959, in Nkwarungo-Machame (Moshi town outskirts), Tanzania, to the late Eliafye Mushi (Father) and the late AleveraIsarya Mankya (Mother). She was the fourth child of six siblings, including Emmanuel Eliafye, the late Ewiri Nanso (Grace), Simeon Eliafye, Margaret Eliafye (twin sister), Joseph Eliafye, and Jacob Eliafye.
Education
She began her early education in Nkwarungo Machame (Tanzania) and continued her education at Victoria Commercial College (1978-1979) in Kisumu, Kenya, where she obtained elementary and intermediate typewriting certifications from Pitman Examinations Institute, London, and continued to do a professional course in tailoring and dressmaking. In her quest to learn more about theology, the late Anna graduated from Nairobi Pentecostal Bible College on November 15, 2014 with a certificate in bible and theology.
Occupation
Anna was a hardworking farmer who enjoyed baking and pastry, meticulous at dressmaking and tailoring, and was very adventurous in preparing unique recipes for her family and friends.
Marriage
She met the love of her life, Isaiah Macharia, in 1981 in Kisumu, Kenya, while both were serving in Kisumu-Deliverance Church. They married on November 5, 1983, at EastleighDeliverance Church. Their union is blessed with Daniel Muraria (son), Irine Maru (daughter in law), Jeremiah Muthee (son), Dr. Sarah Njeri (daughter), Emmanuel Chege (son), Amani Maanka (granddaughter) and Imani Lois (granddaughter).
Christian Life
She was dedicated as a child on 5th April 1959 at North diocese, Nkwarungo ParishLutheran Church-Tanzania and later confessed Christ as the Lord and Saviour in her life while in Kisumu-Kenya and before meeting the love of her life. She faithfully and diligently served in many ministries and roles at Kimbo-Githurai PEFA church, where she touched lives and became a mother figure to many, having many sons and daughters in love since relocating from Garissa in late 1989 to her current residence in Githurai, Kimbo.
Social Life
The late Anna selflessly served her community by caring for the underprivileged, embracing widows, and being a mother to orphans. She was an active member of several community welfare organizations. She also promoted a green environment by operating a tree nursery and participating in tree planting drives in her community. Anna will be remembered most for her devotion to her husband, her deep love for her family, as a mother, sister, and cherished friend to many. She lavished her affection and unwavering support on her loved ones.
Health
Anna had excellent health until 2010, when she became ill and was diagnosed with Lupus, which she successfully overcame and managed with the help of family, friends, and healthcare specialists. On Wednesday, July 26th, 2023, while driving her spouse home from a lunch hour church service, she experienced a severe headache, stopped the car, and then fell unconscious. Following additional tests and investigations, she was diagnosed with a massive stroke at Kenyatta National Hospital. The critical care unit handled the situation quickly, and she responded to the initial medical interventions. She died on 29th July 2023.
