"Let the memory of Oslo Mwendwa be with us forever "

  • 21 Years Old
  • Born on Wednesday, February 26 2003 in Kenya
  • Passed away on Monday, March 18 2024 in Maungu, Taita Taveta

Our dear daughter was born on 26th February 2003 in Meru. She was the frst born and only daughter of Pauline Gakii and a cherished sister to Sanjay Kinyua (Papu). She is grand daughter to the late Anne Igweta. Niece to Franklin Mugendi and Caroline Kageni. She is Cousin, niece and grand daughter to the Igwetas.

Mwendwa started her early education at Saleem Academy, Meru. She worked diligently throughout her primary school education and excelled at her KCPE earning her a place at the prestigious Kaaga Girls High School. Her focus and eye on success bore fruit and she joined Kenyatta University in August 2021 to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in health services management. She had a dream of advancing her education to eventually pursue a career as a medical doctor, a vision cut short by the cruel hand of death.

Mwendwa was baptized at Runogone Catholic Church on 10/06/2018 and she was con?rmed on 01/07/2018 . She was an active youth member and participated in serving the community as a dedicated member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Mwendwa was an outgoing, jovial and sociable girl who made and kept friends easily. She had a large circle of friends across the country.

On 18th March 2024, Mwendwa and her classmates at Kenyatta University left for an educational trip to Mombasa. She was so excited and looking forward to this trip and she virtually traveled with family and friends on this trip, updating and video-calling throughout the journey. Her last post went like “Mombasa, here I come!”. Destination Mombasa was so close yet so far as it was never to be! Shortly after talking to her mum at around 4.30pm on this fateful day, they were involved in a road accident where she met her untimely death. Rest well Mwendwa, we know that we will see you again one day. Your life's journey is over and you are physically gone from us, but you will never ever be forgotten.
